From 'CHILD-HOOD' to 'ADULT-HOOD'

Left- An adult King Cobra(12ft) being rescued from a village near Shimoga, Right-A king cobra hatchling just out of the egg, lying in the bottom of the food cycle in the young years this snake doubles and triples its size in less than a year, and soon gets to the top of the food cycle and establishes its reign in the forest of the Western Ghats as the King Of All Snakes !

The Jubliant Gowri Shankar(ARRS) smiles with great satisfaction after releasing the 25 king cobra hatchlings that he recovered from an abandoned nest near thirthahalli. Gowri kept vigil over the nest and the eggs for over three months,and when the babies come out..Its almost a father's pride!

they weighed 45 gms and averaged a length of 52cms















A 3 day old hatchling shedding. The vibrant skin is slowly revealed as it sheds its old skin. The cycle extends from 30 days to 90 days depending on the species.
